Joshua Down Nominated for Front of house Excellence

We’re incredibly proud to share that de’sendent Restaurant Manager Joshua Down has been nominated for Gourmet Traveller’s Restaurant Personality of the Year as part of the 2026 Australian Restaurant Awards.

The national nomination recognises the people who bring hospitality to life — and for us, it’s a wonderful recognition of Joshua’s energy, personality and commitment to creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Working in front of house is about so much more than service. It’s about connection, anticipation and creating an atmosphere that makes people feel genuinely welcome. Joshua brings that philosophy to everything he does at de’sendent, helping shape the experience our guests have from the moment they arrive.

To be recognised alongside some of Australia’s leading hospitality personalities is an incredible achievement, particularly in a year where de’sendent has also been named Western Australia’s Restaurant of the Year.
